Look, I didn't put something like shaving on there because that's genuinely a skill I was able to learn for myself, but your parents mold and shape you over years into the person you're going to be for your entire life. You can't expect a kid to mold himself. My mom saw me getting pushed around in the park one day and just told them to go away. Not once did she ever tell me I should've stood up for myself. Not once did she ever tell me it was okay to hit someone back if they hit you first. These are crucial life lessons to instill in a child and she didn't teach them to me.
