Aside from hope, I miss video games being good, looking forward to my favorite cartoon shows, actually having friends, occasionally staying up late to watch what at the time I called adult cartoons on adult swim. I just miss being a happy go lucky kid mostly.

Friends, fun, new things.

I miss Punk rock and being happy

Cartoon Network, Nick, and to a lesser extent MTV and Comedy Central being on point at the time.

The lack of smartphones and widespread use of Internet kept things simple and in your own little bubble within the world.

There used to be a certain magic to the world. When I didn't understand something I had to try and figure it out, I couldn't just look it up on the computer.

I miss watching Teen Titans at 10-10:30 at night. I miss watching Futurama with my dad. I miss the GameCube, and going to the pizza place with Guitar Hero. I miss when the pizza places had fun arcades, not just rundown and tired ones. I miss watching Penelope Pitstop and Pink Panther in the mornings before school. I miss Boomerang and 70s Scooby-Doo re-runs. God, I miss watching VHS Scooby-Doo tapes. I also miss long car rides with my dad, listening to whatever cds he decided to play for me. I miss loving my mom.

I don't remember much past 2008. Only small bits and pieces

1993, I remember being obsessed with technology back then, particularly pocket pcs, the smartphone was the fulfillment of my childhood obsessions i also remember constantly searching the web for a google earth type program for hours it didnt exist in 2004, now tech is just boring not amazing as it was back then

The internet being the wild west. Everything is getting dangerously centralized now.

Sure, it's nice to have wikis for your favorite shows. And it's a lot easier to access media you like.

But now, there's no real incentive to explore anymore. And forums are diminishing. People just mindlessly stagnate in their own little bubbles and don't even mind.

Heck, normies are starting to do it over the early-mid 2000s.There's a Captain Underpants movie coming out, new Gorillaz songs, Dave Chapelle doing standup again, new season of Samurai Jack, new Teen Titans movie, a That's So Raven spinoff is coming out, Lizzie McGuire and Malcolm in the Middle are having reunions soon, Zoey 101 had a reunion a few years back, a sequel to Big Fat Liar is coming out, Finding Dory came out last year, there's a new Ring movie out.

Question for mid-to-late 2000s kids, what do you miss from the mid-to-late 2000s?

The lack of no trespassing signs, smartphones and surveillance cameras literally everywhere.

Today you always have to stay on the sidewalk and avoid doing anything you wouldn't want broadcast on national television.

Mid to late 2000's kid: I miss the mysterious nature of shows like Teen Titans which my parents would not let me watch. I miss the times we had cable where the whole family would gather for cartoon network or disney movies. I miss running around catching pink lady butterflies. I miss those times before I constantly had the thought of Big Brother watching me. I miss always playing vidya with my sisters on Wii and DS. I miss my mom being home when school released. I miss my grandparents' house being full of wonder, before only vidya and such sustained me. I miss muh toy dinos

DUDE! The most hopeless time in the last few decades was the Early 2000s--right after 9/11, we realized our lives would NEVER be the same.

Remember when you could pretty much just get on an airplane with only the most minimal security check? And anybody could go right up to the gate to meet someone, and park right by the terminal? And they served food with metal silverware including knives?

9/11 ruined all of that and turned "MUH TERRRRRIZM!!" into the primary thought in at least half f the US's minds forever

Was 1991 - 1994 the best years to be born in? You get to experience youth in all of the eras. You get to be a 90s kid as a young kid, you get to be an early 2000s kid as an older kid and you get to be a 2000s teen in the late 2000s during the myspace and MSN era.
