Has anyone ever seen a therapist just because they don't feel right? For the last few years, I've felt general anxiety and an acute sense of inadequacy and incompetence. Its making me pretty miserable. I just woke up from a horrific stress dream, the final message of it being "You need to see a therapist. The things you are feeling are not normal and can be fixed." I'm really considering it but I still feel strange going to a shrink just because I feel "off."
What is a therapist (Psychiatrist, because I don't want drugs) visit like?
