Why does it seem like the majority of /r9k/ associate with assholes?
For example, there was a thread last night about a girl at E3 (whatever that is) and everyone was saying she was a cunt. There was another thread about this YouTube content creator named Logan Paul and some other YouTube creator who bullied some kid growing up.
But here is what I don't understand. I don't associate with people like that, and on YouTube I don't watch those kind of YouTube creators. I don't even know they exist. Those kind of people don't even register in my radar. A lot of YouTube creators I watch don't seem like assholes. And in my department of study at college everyone seems so low key.
However, the people that /r9k/ always talk about are loud and obnoxious, but the people I associate with are more quiet and low key. I guess from a sociological standpoint why is /r9k/ drawn to annoying loud mouthed people? I am fortunate to not come across those personality types, and maybe I'm just trying to probe into why that is.
As another example, I shoot weddings and I'm watching these videos by this wedding videographer couple, husband and wife. They don't look like anyone /r9k/ would really post about. It is like this couple wouldn't register on /r9k/ radar, just like the people they post about don't register on mine. The guy is a little chubby and the wife is a little bookish looking, but they seem like nice wholesome people who don't succumb to that chad/stacy(alpha/beta) logic that r9k employs.
Maybe we could have an open discussion about the semantics of why that is?
>tl/dr; I don't encounter as many loud, obnoxious, asshole types in my day to day life as the /r9k/ community seems to be posting about. Why is the /r9k/ community drawn to loud, obnoxious asshole people and not actually nice people? Nice people succeed just as much, if not more than the assholes.

>I guess from a sociological standpoint why is /r9k/ drawn to annoying loud mouthed people?
It's the other way around. Assholes are drawn to us because they need a target.
/r9k/ is drawn to assholes because it affirms their worldview

because when you've got a victim complex it feels like everyone's against you and trying to attack you.

>only now realising r9k is filled with emotional irrational retards
Because a nice couple making wedding videos isn't worth posting about
They seem nice and pretty average, have a niche sort of job and may provide entertainment to a couple thousand people. That's why /r9k/ doesn't care, misery likes company not cozy videos.
