All I can see is that your relative level of 'niceness' or lack of abrasive personality is pretty much irrelevant to whether you can get laid. I think everybody realizes that on some level appearance and social standing are more important than your personality or disposition, though many will deny it because it implicates them and makes them seem shallow even though it's only human. As a result people like to spin convenient little narratives that absolve them of any 'guilt', either by lying about the situation or else turning the 'losers' into villains who deserve it.

Even on this board you will see people who will always defend the system (for lack of better word) by casting the loser's lack of fitness as simply being moral failure even though highly immoral people get by just fine. The inconvenient but obvious truth is that succeeding in the system has pretty much nothing to do with whether you are an upstanding person, it might actually be better that you aren't as it means you can more easily manipulate the situation by undermining competitors through underhanded tactics.
