My best friend just had his gf break up with him because he was a clingy fuck
for example, he would text her an essay of insecurities after she didn't send a haha to a couple of his jokes
She had enough and broke up with him because she couldn't deal with it any more
What is some genuine advice to give to him so he learns to be less clingy and insecure? How do you change that?
Is this "best friend" yourself?
Get the fuck out normie
"Best friend"
Sure thing, kiddo.
Tell him to cling to bofa.
Bofa deez nutz XDDDDDD
Don't be a clingy fuck who speeds out everytime someone close to you doesn't respond. People get busy, they laugh about it to themselves, or they just disn't find it funny. Move on.
What jokes did you send her OP?

he said it was just pictures of his study notes but with silly drawings and captions
then she posted the same picture in some group chat but with a different caption so she mustn't have found what he said that funny
Telling him not to be clingy is the obvious thing to do, but he doesn't think he can change himself. How am I meant to get him to force himself to have self restraint? he gets super emotional, I was talking to him the day they broke up (before it happened) and he was in so much literal distress he felt he had to call her even though I told him it was just going to make things worse
>my best friend

also he does all this lolsorandumb self deprecating humor to try and make his messages seem less serious, while still saying shit like "i need closure"
When he just considers that his typing style, how are you meant to tell him that that shit doesn't help?
