I have a 4 year degree in Management Information Systems from Auburn University. But remember I am 32 years old, I have been out of college and working for 10 years. While you are very young (under 25 I would say) and or in school you will be told and think it's all about what degree and certs you have, but that's not really true. It is more about being 30 and coming off to a guy who is 60 as someone who is not bullshiting him and knows his stuff. I was NEET due to depression for 2 years in my late 20s, all I did was eat chicken and work out and browse /fit/. Then I started drinking again and gained the courage to go outside. I know it's a weird story but that's what happened to me. Anyway I told a guy at a local store I could do his website and did that for 2k a month for awhile. During that time I met the guy I am working for now and he expressed his displeasure to me about the company he was outsourcing his IT to. He was paying like 200k a year and they were late with calls and accountability. I told him I would come by and take a look if he wanted, so I did and told him straight up what I thought. After that he asked me to do some calls for him, so I did. Then after about a year of that he said he decided he wanted his own in house IT manager instead of doing outsourcing and would I do it for 60k, with that offer he promised bonuses if I delivered on some stuff he wanted done. So I took that job and over about 3 years negotiated bonuses and continued salary for taking on new projects at about 10k per year, now I make 94k.

But it has nothing really to do with certs or a degree, I proved myself to the owner of a midsize company over the course of about 5 years. That is what it takes to get a cushy job in my opinion/experience

They might suspect I drink, but they know I am honest and don't lie or bullshit them or pad bills or steal or anything like that. Also I know computers and do right
