Yes, newfag. Also, it's a clover. Not sure if this is exactly the reason it's a clover, but 4chan was supposed to be the english counterpart to 2chan. 2chan's symbol has 2 leaves, so 4chan's has 4 leaves. Also, it looks kind of like Yotsuba's hair, from some weebshit comic series. The website was originally intended to be a weebshit discussion forum, like 2chan.
