Anyone else feel conversation has turned into a metagame? A friend had recently started talking to me on Facebook and we caught up after a couple years of not talking. She's not necessarily boring (and she's initiated the conversation multiple times) but it feels like the responsibility is on me to keep the conversation flowing naturally, which can be hard as we don't have much in common. I think I'm such an autist for overthinking something as simple as human interaction.
I don't want to stop talking to her. Not because I like her or anything but because I haven't had an interaction at this level for three or four years. She's actually a neet otaku hapa living in japanI just want someone to talk to.

If you can't hold a conversation why try to prolong a dead one?

Like I said, I'm in desperate need of someone to talk to on a somewhat regular basis. Being alone (anonymously on here though) is killing me.

She sounds like a real catch if she's a real neet but I'm sure you could pick up someone and have a better chance with someone on soc.

You need something in common to talk about. Maybe you could do something together, like watch a movie/TV show or play a game?

We both paint digitally but that only goes so far. She also stopped drawing so that's more or less out of the question conversationally. & I said I'm an autist. I don't think I could do something as connected as play a game with her (supposedely over a voice chat).
