Almost every woman I've gone out with there has insisted on splitting bills, regardless of whether they're interested in me or not. Some girls who I had casual or long-term relationships with never wanted me to feel like I had to support them financially, in part because I think they were self-conscious about being from a country with a reputation for poverty.

Me and my ex also routinely split bills, or we'd trade off ("I paid for dinner last night, so you do it tonight).
