Buddhism and also Hinduism at least believe that when you die you don't go to heaven or hell, you just start a new life over.

I'm mostly speaking about Buddhism but I'm sure it overlaps into Hinduism as well but they believe that all living things should live lives free of unnecessary suffering since all living things are our ancestors and we will become them one day as well.


You do die, you leave your body and people who loved you are sad - and then you start all over except that now you're a Chinese girl or a pet mouse or a mouse that's about to be fed to a pet snake or something else.

iirc some more esoteric Buddhist school also believe that you can be reborn as a demi-god or a demon or their versions of ghosts, but those forms also have their own version of suffering and death as well.
