What I do is go through the material with a piece of paper, write the most important things on it and then take it with me to the exam between my sheets (we write on our own). Nobody ever called me out on it.

There are many methods and you'll have to find the one that works the best for you, mostly through trial and error. It helps to identify what your learning style is, though: verbal, visual, kinetic, or whatever else. I really hope you didn't want til the last minute to work on developing this crucial learning skill.

look into mnemonics, makes it dead easy to remember lists and such. Or write a summary in a text file, remove some of the answer and try to complete the blanks a couple of times, last two days make an even shorter summary of the summary you already had but this time with pen and paper, it helps
