I know both of these feels all too much. Right now I work this horrific 1pm - 10pm shift, all night I am battling in my head not to drink. I get out and the first thing I do is grab beer or liq on my way home. Then I get home and drink in front of the computer screen, wake up the next morning late and feeling like shit.

Im a first time drinker and my friends are trying to get me drunk this weekend and im a little nervous about being a lightweight, my question is how many shots of jack daniels is the right amount to get drunk off of?

I drink 8 beers a day usually. I just buy coors and drink that shit like water since it's only 20 for a 24 pack here.

I'm moving to a new city where I know nobody. I'm hoping I can keep myself busy working, writing, meeting new people, exploring the city and the like so I don't feel the need to drink so much, but I know in the back of my mind I'll just wind up jammed in 300 sq ft doing the same shit I do now, except with everyone I know hundreds of miles away.

I know. This was a huge impulse decision (my work is paying to move me out there which financially makes it easy) but I'm hoping that since my problems are mainly internal that I can make a serious lifestyle change being alone in an alien environment. It may work out, it may not, but if I don't do it I know I'll keep stagnating and wind up drinking myself to death in a decade or two.

i used to drink like a fifth a day and i sometimes buy bottles of whiskey to binge. i might tomorrow. i quit the consistent use though. i mostly do kratom instead. got clean for a few weeks in general and life just makes me cave and get fucked up. my gf keeps beer in her fridge and i drink them like every time im over and she commented on it and i felt bad. i was craving the shit out of alcohol since i went through 1L in the 2 days before. i like cooking when i drink and drinking when i cook so i cook the dinner a lot.
i legit think the drinking daily stage was shadier than the oxy stage, the coke stage, or the pcp stage.
