Is it wrong that I giggled when I overheard my neighbour talk about her nephew with brain cancer?
No, It's not. It would be wrong of me to suppress my natural reaction

That's so edgy, edge lord.
It's pathetic that you don't have compassion for your fellow man, you also have to be pretty twisted/bitter to take joy from others misfortune.
I'm not taking the high ground because I'm the same. We're not "edgy", we're misanthropes(I may also be slightly sociopathic). The only difference is I have a wider vocabulary and wouldn't ask a question then immediately answer it(like a dumbass)

Good Lord this had better be bait.

Nah don't lump me in with you "I watched American psycho" edgy brats
I have empathy, my sympathy on the other hand is pretty limited. I can't save a starving child on the other side of the world or a kid with cancer. Am I meant to cry or feel sad for them? It doesn't matter because it won't change anything. I am irrelevant in their reality of suffering. This internalized realization simply manifested itself as laughter, caring is literally pointless

look at this edgy brat that just watched American Psycho

Looks like someone doesn't understand the point of anything.

I laugh when I get nervous
My friend was telling me a story about his uncle having a heart attack while driving and his head banging on the steering wheel repeatedly
I started laughing like a hyaena

>Am I meant to cry or feel sad for them?
"Yes". It's better for you to pretend to do so, if you want smoother relationships with people. You have the right not to, of course.

Great story, really.
Some neo-Nazis dead, another in prison.
