Well, so many people are convinced these days that young people are really prude and traditional and that they are rejecting hookup culture. I see no proof of that.

I'd say it's bad because the people I've known who did it never enjoyed it. They all looked unfulfilled in a sense, and these are men and women. One guy I knew got an STD. It seems to be a cheap trashy way of treating other people as disposable tools you can use and then throw away. And I'm not even getting into how it's based if you believe in religion seriously.

But you can always reject these premises I am making if you take part in it and don't feel the same way.

It makes people, both men and women, more bitter, insecure and paranoid, because they know that if things even get a little bit difficult chances are that will be over, so there's no point trying to become skilled at compromising.

I think some factors to include are that people are living longer, meaning unlike previous generations, we dont "need" to get married or date as early.

It's not necessarily bad, it's just not compatible with the societies we've built. Providing for a wife and family gives men an incentive to contribute and makes them more willing to put up with poverty.
