March 21 was the day I lost the only thing that made me happy
>Mom had cancer and Dad was off in a war somewhere
>He wanted to come home, but couldn't
>Mom came home from hospital for my birthday, some of my friends were there but that didn't matter cause she looked better
>She baked a cake and right as I blew out the candles she collapsed
> She didn't even get halfway to the hospital when she was declared dead
>Dad was finally granted leave and came home
I love my dad, but he wasn't there for the start of my life, I don't blame him for not being there
>Her birthday is coming up
>I am going to bake the same cake she baked me and lay it by her grave.
Anyone else have anyone close to them die like this?

Hey my mom died twenty years ago next april.

Those medical bills from the cancer and subsequent funeral didn't help my childhood either haha
