The problem is distance. I'm not staying in one position for a long trip. Plus I wouldn't be able to carry any cargo. If it was like a tron bike then maybe I'd take it anyways, but as motorcyclesz currently are, a car is more useful.

the uk, insurances are anything to 200-1000 for even for shitty scooters. and like I said you need at least 2 years of experience before being able to ride anything above 125cc. the whole thing just turned me off completely and just got a car license instead.

Cost and danger. Driving school and a cheap bike are 1000 euros at least, more if you include gear. I make like 700 a month and I have to pay for rent and food and stuff. I also think I'd do some stupid mistake sooner or later that would endanger me or others. I get stressed quite easily and I tend to shit the bed when under pressure. And I don't have a garage, I'm afraid that someone would steal my bike if I had one.
I still can't stop thinking about it though and I drool over bikes on the streets all the time. CBR's and Ninjas mostly. God I wish I could stop overanalyzing everything...

How do I stay alive on a motorcycle?

I ride and it's the best thing I did. I don't care if I'm stuck in traffic... being on a bike beats being in a car any day. Rain, sun, doesn't matter.

Yes but not for that reason. If I knew for a fact that getting in a serious crash would kill me I wouldn't mind one bit. But the fact is I probably wouldn't die and I'd end up paralysed or with some agonising permanent injury. It doesn't matter if you ride defensively or not, someday you will crash, whether because some stupid cunt in a car next to you suddenly changed lanes without looking, or because you took a corner a little too recklessly. The only variable is how serious the crash will be and thus how much damage your body will receive and I don't want to be a fucking paraplegic because some faggot soccer mom was in a hurry one day.

I learned how to ride in New Delhi.

Royal Enfield is the dominant player in the Indian motorcycle market. When you're on a road chock-full of tiny little 125 and 150cc Bajaj and Hero Honda bikes, the Enfield seems to have a presence like no other.

I bought mine purely out of nostalgia.

While I can't say I regret the purchase wholeheartedly, I will never, ever buy another Royal Enfield bike unless they modernize their parts and make a product that won't fall apart from vibrations at American freeway speeds.

Really looking forward to saving up for something I can do some serious touring on. I want to do Alaska-Argentina after I graduate, preferably on a Beemer or V-Strom. Will settle for a KLR 650 if I have to but meh.
