Just take your time and explore everything. Only thing you should avoid at this point are the 2 beasts on the bridge. There's a shortcut to the dog kennels area behind some crates in the place where you fight your first giant. Don't miss the hunter set in the sewers too, it's a big upgrade from the starting set.

Did you fight Father G yet? I would recommend a strength focused build for a first playthrough. You can use blood beast pellets and fire/bolt papers for most bosses and just make a joke out of the game. Hunters Axe, Kikehammer, or Ludwigs Blade are good choices for the build

Oh yea, Kikehammer is what I bought but can't wield (str of 13). I've been building skill and using the Sawspear and Cane so far, not too bad. I fought Father G, bit of a scuffle at first but started handing him his ass once I realised to dodge the shotgun shots he pulls after you hit him twice. Then he beast-formed and pinned me against a tree and GG. Second attempt and I got him to 50hp, I had ran out of Bloodvials and was sweatin hard. Threw a Molotov at him just as he leapt at me and it killed him. Lucky as fuck I was

This is my situation sadly. It frustrates and angers me to know that I'm a 30yo guy doing worse at a vidya game than a 15yo Chadlette who is most probably laughing his arse off at me.

Nice so now for the next area after Father G you can buy a key from the Jews that allow you to open one of the large gates. Or you can proceed into Old Yharnam and beat the boss, which opens up another part and allows you into the same area. I'd recommend skipping the key and just doing everything. Plus beating this optional boss allows you access to chalice dungeons.

Yeah it's pretty good, I'd say it's the best strength focused weapon. But if you're sticking with skill, I'd stay with the spear and cane. Later on you can get even better skill weapons. But you can always change your focus, you can start building on strength now to use the Kikehammer, up to you.

I sympathize with you all. I am 25 and I can't get interested in video games anymore, but for the past few years especially, I am fucking awful when I do play multiplayer. Sometimes I will dominate but it's rare. It sucks knowing that something as trivial and "entertaining" as video games is still so hard for me.

I'm super petty and competitive with vidya. I went to a mate's house, we played Mortal Kombat X and it was a pretty even match win/loss rate between us. Later that week I bought it on steam and spent a week and a half beating the game with every character and learning how to play all of them. Next time I will stand victorious

I punch myself in the head a few times and have thrown the mouse at the screen a few times but when I've been really frustrated I've thrown the controller at my TV screen. Ended up breaking two TV screens this way.

You'll want to learn to do the parry style stun with your gun to do visceral attacks. Gascoigne can be killed in like 5 visceral attacks. It works on just about every enemy except the most massive ones or spiders. Also a protip for Cainhurst, after you damage the boss enough he'll start charging up a buff for himself. Walk around behind him and do a charged strong attack then visceral him. That'll prevent him from getting the buff. If you don't stop him from doing it he gets a red haze around him that deflects your bullets like 90% of the time.
