I was invited to a girl's bday in London (I'm euro). The day after she said she was too busy for me. I bought London A to Z (map) and visited exactly what I wanted, the Tate Modern, Fleet Street (newspaper street), went to Brixton (fucking scary alone...) for the Brixton Academy (but the concert was sold out, should have booked it).

Then I tried to go to a club but it was Sunday night, I roamed empty streets alone. Day after I searched for Rough Trade record shop. Got lost and stumbled upon Notting Hill. Quite cosy, nice weather. Found Rough Trade and asked for a record they didn't have, just to chitchat. Also my friend hooked me with 2 brits I've had coffee with. Also I had met a french guy in the tunnel train, we exchanged numbers because he said he would have time, but when I felt loney I called and he didn't answer.

Almost missed the return train because I didn't want to lose 2 hours to come early to the station. Felt like Mission Impossible in the subway. Discovered the very classy neighborhood of Pimlico (because my friend's bf was very posh). Also I remember the millenial bridge between the Tate Modern and St Paul's cathedral, very nice.

Didn't feel so alone except the 2 evenings.

Thailand? I suggest the Philippines (younger prostitutes)

I went alone to Japan, actually did it 3 times. I'm from the UK so it's a pretty long flight, but it's nice to put some headphones on and read a book on the plane without having to entertain anyone.

Japan is actually really great for solo travellers, there's lots to see (Tokyo tower, shrines, daytrips to kamakura and nikko, all the crazy shopping in akihabara and nakano, etc etc). Everyone speaks at least a few words of English and is very friendly, and the subway is all colour coded and very easy to get to grips with. The machines for tickets and things usually have an English option and you can buy day tickets if you want minimum hassle.

I went there to buy porn and weeb shit (obvs) and I had a great time, I stayed in one of the Smile hotels and the room was nice, had en suite shower and wifi. Spent my nights playing minecraft and going through all the weeb crap I bought. Whole trip from the UK for 2 weeks cost about 1K gbp, although that's without spending money.

I am tossing up between Thailand or Indonesia. All I really want to do is drink cheaply and eat yummy food. I don't like beaches but would likely just like to walk around metro areas and see what a non western country is like.

Yeah, went on a backpacking trip through Eastern Europe for four weeks. Coming from the Netherlands it was so cheap over there and definitely worth going. Lots of Aussies though in Hostels. But the girls were great. Brisbane people were the nicest and the hottest, but also the easiest of them all.

Spent 1000 euro in total for 4 weeks there in total with activities, food, hostels, going out and flights and transportation.
Definitely worth doing.

Koh Chang is fucking great if you want beaches, pussy (not as high tier as rest of Thailand), decent food and want to avoid Westerners. There still there but half the cunts are Eurofags and no shit like every second one will ask you, "Deutsch?" So many fucking Germans.

Go to Bangkok. It's a stinky ass packed city but the food is awesome, culture galore, you can dodge the western normies very easily. I went bar hopping constantly alone and the only people I ended up with were Japs, Pakis and Frogs. Don't be shit at pool. Everyone loves to play pool in the bars in Thailand and if you can play you'll meet people.

It's not as bad as people think, a lot of things to do are free and the food at the 7/11's is delicious enough to live on easily if you want to save money. Even the cheap hotels there are amazing and the only transport ticket you need is the 5gbp-ish a day tube ticket. Once you get used to the underground you can buy individual tickets to where you want to go for a lot cheaper, too.
