You don't really need classes, just pick up a book from your music store and work through it. It took me about a year to get through a single book on just the snare drum.

I'm complete shite. I just find songs to play on guitar and ukulele and down strum while singing.

Mostly guitar and vocals, a little bit of piano.

Started recording a new song for a new album a few weeks ago, but haven't been able to keep up the energy to record any more since. And every time I listen to back to what I did record it just seems to become more and more lacking, making the whole project feel futile. Feels bad man.

Been playing guitar for 9 years, however I play with the proficiency of someone who's got 4 years of serious practice on the instrument. I play bass as well.

Reason I mostly suck is because the music I like isn't terribly demanding Oldschool metal and punk

I have been trying to play bass, but I really suck. I picked up an acoustic guitar a month or two ago and I am even worse at that. I usually just stick to my ukulele and try to play happy music when I get frustrated at myself.

I can play guitar a bit. I'm not good at actually making music, but I can play some fairly challenging stuff.

I don't plan on taking it further than my bedroom so I'm okay with not actually building composition skills at the moment. That may come in time.
