what don't you get about it? you either use the quadratic master equation or you factor it

(a+b)(c+d) -> a*c=w^2, a*d+b*c=-w, b*d = -6, so b and d have to be factors of -6. -3 and 2 fit the original equation

I only ever took Algebra 1 and 2 in highschool. I finessed both those classes. Didn't learn a damn thing.

Now I have to take PreCal and it's kicking my ass.

If ax^2 + bx + c = 0, then

x^2 + b/ax = -c/a and

x^2 + b/ax + b^2/(2a)^2 = b^2/(2a)^2 - c/a

Since (x + b/2a)^2 = x*X + b/a + b^2/(2a)^2,

(x + b/2a)^2 = b^2/(2a)^2 - c/a

and

x + b/2a = +- sqrt(b^2/(2a)^2 - c/a)

Rearranging some gay shit, x = (-b +- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a

And that's the only tricky thing there is about them.
