Monobenzone works pretty nice. There's lots of ways though, even liquid nitrogen if you know what you're doing. It's permanent though. It's not so much about removing melanin as it is killing the melanocytes.

I have this illnes too, i've had focal vitiligo since i was born, it was just on my left elbow so i did not care much (still i never went to the beach or wore t-shirts)
But now i've noticed some spots growing around my body, one on my finger and one on the side of my nose (they're really small, smaller than a fly), the one on my elbow is growing too.
I hope they do not grow more than this, if they do the embarrassment will be to great and i will kill myself (i still have one more year of school, it's already terrible the way it is).
I wish i had cancer instead of vitiligo.
