Nothing will prepare us for the 2020s.

This. If people think now is bad just wait. Things are about to get much crazier.

I'm actually pretty interested to see how the 2020 election cycle pans out.
Most people of voting age have never gotten to experience anything other than OBUNGA, and after Trump the only real contender for the GOP is gunna be Cruz, who's an insane religious sociopath.
Hillary isn't gunna be a contender unless she lies and cheats her way in again, and even then she'll probably just lose again because fucking everybody hates her.
Bernie is gunna be too damn old to run again
So really we're gunna see some new faces in politics
>>37249587
Politics just gets shittier and shittier with every year. I don't know how people can put any faith in it.

Your mistake is thinking you've been alive for a very long time. You haven't. A year is basically no fucking time at all. Time just passed really slowly when we were kids because everything was new and exciting and you were always being a hyperactive little shit, and when you create life experiences you create more time. The last 10 years probably feel like nothing to someone who was 40 years old back then and 50 now, because they did nothing but commute back and forth from work to home and watched cable television news instead of thinking about which new video game was gonna be released each year. We also have a tendency to think that decades like the 70s 80s and 90s lasted longer than they did because we hold them in such high standards and nostalgia. That's probably because technology and culture changed so quickly in between them. Seems like almost nothing changed from 2007 to 2017 in comparison.

>Hillary isn't gunna be a contender unless she lies and cheats her way in again, and even then she'll probably just lose again because fucking everybody hates her.
This. I don't think non-Americans realize how unpopular she is compared to Trump. I've met a lot of Trump supporters, even more Sanders supports, even some Stein and Johnson supporters, but only one single person who actually like Clinton. Anything resembling love for her is entirely media astroturfing and even feminists don't want her in the White House. Her voters only begrudgingly tolerated her to the bare minimum extent because the alternative was Trump.

FUCCKKKKK
what surprises me the most now is how fast a day goes by.
even if I have shit to do, I find myself asking questions like: "how the fuck is it 9 PM already"

I feel this, and I don't know why the world is this way. Maybe I'm just getting old.
>>37250505
>almost nothing changed from 2007 to 2017 in comparison
well 4chan changed alot. /b/ was the shit back then (raids and such), /r9k/ was a genuine place to get advice, and not everyone was either roleplaying or being a troll.
Now /b/ is just an old discarded shell of itself, /r9k/ is full of NEETs and shitposting has evolved from satirical humor to legitimate autism.
Oh yeah, and don't forget m00t abandoned us.
>>37253153
This site really should have ended ~2008, at the latest 2012. Every day I have the overwhelming sense that this place wasn't meant to last this long.
>>37253263
This place would be fine if people didn't draw attention for the raids we've done over the years, imagine if 4chan shut down for a whole year, the mobile retards who crave something new every 2 minutes will forget about 4chan in 6 months, then we can get rid of the normie boards and go back to being a porn/anime board.
>current year is closer to this number than that number

tf2 has been out for ten years.
>>37253325
I don't think there's any going back now. 4chan was just supposed to be a fansite for anime/video games/other niche hobbies but it's become a crypto social network at this point. Really, everything about early 2000s Internet culture is pretty much dead now.
>It's been 5000 years since 4chan wasn't shit

>Everything about the way Neil Armstrong felt the moment he sat down in the rocket ship was completely dead after they entered orbit.

>Trump has been president for a year
>soon there will be no living men who walked on the moonin b4 we never went to the moon
It's amazing to think I've been coming here for a decade now. And honestly, it's no worse than it was back then. Everything is a repost of a repost of a repost, summer is eternal, and it was always shit here.
I'm glad 4chan still exists. It's nice to have a place I don't have to pretend to be nice and fake.

where does it all go?
>>37254433
It goes away so it can come back better. I wouldn't trade my current situation for 2007 (which was exactly like yours), but in 2014 I would have given anything to be able to go back. It does get better. It'll probably get worse first.
>almost 21
>still haven't done anything with my life other than play video games and watch anime

I disagree.
4chan is pretty much a perfect manifestation of raunchy pre-social media internet culture, it's offensive, obscure culture and humour contrasts perfectly with the hypersensitive and overly politicalized world that is the 2010's.
We should honestly just be amazed and thankful it lasted into the 2010's to stir shit up for the normies.

I can already see the 2020s as being the second 80s judging from the fact that everyone got sick of all that SJW nonsense just like in the 70s and that most of the senate in the US and Trump are republicans. This decade felt a lot like the 70s.
