What tipped me off to that fact was that 4chan (for me) offered itself as the solution to the problems it caused. It's the trademark sign of any addictive substance: drugs, booze, gambling, porn... The more free time I spend here, the less time I spend with other people. I get more socially isolated and lonely, and I want interaction, so I go to 4chan. The cycle goes on.

It's my least favorite addiction of mine. I think I used to get something out of being here a long long time ago, but now I just come here out of addiction even though there's only 1-2 threads I can stand and even then they're not very good. All of the places on the internet I go to in general are dried up and empty. Wonder what I can do to adapt and feel alive again.

I don't think 4chan is much of an addiction. When I first started coming here in 07 it used to be one of say maybe 8 or 9 sites I'd visit on a regular basis and participate in. The other sites have died, my interests have changed and the rest of the internet is just a social media hellhole.

Over time 4chan became the only survivor.
