Retailcuck thread. Stories,etc welcome

I have no stories at the moment, as I've been unemployed for the past three weeks. I'm starting a job working overnights in the produce department of a local grocery store. Anyone have any pointers
>>
>>37217908
No one has a robot job
>>
>>37217908
Overnight is chill as fuck but heavy on tasking. Most of the people are older or robots. No annoying customers, though.
>>
I work nights at a gas station. It's pretty fucking comfy, good pay, and even enough time to shitpost. 10/10 job
>>
>>37218323
>heavy on tasking

What do you mean? Like, grunt or busy work? I did a lot of that kind of stuff at my last job (facing, putting away shit, etc., whenit wasn't busy), so I'm used to it.

Hopefully this job is chill. Kinda sounds like it.

>>37218401
I've always wondered about working nights at a gas station. What do you do? Does it get busy. Any weird customers

I just front stock, refill the fridges, mop and sweep, clean gondalas. Really it's about 3-4hrs of solid work over 9hrs. Gets pretty busy around 5am with tradies coming in.
>weird customers
My store is on the highway, about an hour from the next town up. We get all the weirdos. Pic related.
>>
>>37218540
The work sounds comfy.

Have you seen the creepy lady before or after
>>
I work front end as a support tech at a best buy-equivalent in my country. Every day I'm literally inches from murdering someone after explaining to the nth retard that he wont get a new computer after dropping his mac down the stairs. Doesnt help that all my colleagues hate me cause im always in a pissy mood. It's quite comfy apart from the customers, get to chill and tinker with puters and phone repairs, but overall shit job
>>
>>37217908

I'm an overnight supervisor in a supermarket. It's nice not having customers but theres a lot of work to do most of the time. It's also boring as fuck.

Produce is good though, probably the only enjoyable part of fresh foods.

Always the same with those old hags.
Construction workes usually give at least a 50 cent tip even if they only have to pay 99 cents for a Laugenstangerl

I've since moved up from being a meat cutter/manager and work behind the scenes. When I say I'm an asset to the company it's because I've learned or discovered things that I refuse to teach people that are necessary business practices.

The really snooty, bitchy middle aged women.

People who let their kids run rampant around the store, without care

The really rambunctious teens or twenty somethings

Always, they always point at something while their fingers are hidden behind the counter and get angry that you can't tell what they want while ten people are waiting behind them.
>>
>work late shift
>The only store that's open till 9pm
>At 8:50 half of my town has to go into the store
>One guy runs up to me, a huge fuckin line is waiting for their order, he mumbles something
>I ask him what?
>He just runs off
>Fast forward to 20:59
>Asks me where his chickens are
>I tell him we are out of chickens
>He calls me an asshole and says he told me to reserve on for him
>Shouts that his taxi is waiting
>Leaves with a fit
>The next day he comes in, wants to see my manager
>My manager comes to me, is angry and asks me how I could misplease him
>He's standing there smiling

This is the thing they always tell you to make you feel bad.
As if I could give less of shit about your shopping habits
I'm just a machine doing my job, my salary isn't influenced by what you say or do.

I never understood this. The person that controls the prices has nothing to do with me.
If you want to get in contact with the tentacles that control the cost of stuff watch a fucking hentai about jews
>>
Working retail really opened my eyes on how shitty, lazy, stupid and disgusting people can be, customers and coworkers alike.
>>
Anybody worked at walmart or home depot? How was that?

I sell cameras at Best Purchase
I sell 40 grand a month and take home like 1k at the end of the month.

what kind of shop can you buy bread by the slice?
>>
>>37222666
It's this western Austrian food chain that sells everything connected to bread, sweet bakes goods, meat etc.
It's overpriced as hell and most of the stuff tastes horrible but people love going there.
We have this one sort of bread that you have to sell by weight and it's there for slices of bread.

To get back on topic, some people are so lazy they want you to put butter on their children's bread. Look up pretzels and you know in how much agony you are when some single mom wants you to make the breakfast for her children because she can't handle her shit.

We let people drink beer in our store at 6 am so the alcoholics really love us.
>>
>>37222802
That shouldn't annoy you since (hopefully) it's not a service the store provides so you can just say no.
>>
>>37222930
It's a service the store provides. It's one of those services and is fucking expensive for the customer (40 cents for a slice of butter), annoying for the worker and one of those that never leaves you with a tip, due to being so expensive.
>>
>>37223068
*That is fucking expensive for the costumer.
I hate phoneposting but my pc broke down

>been working for almost a year now at one of the shittiest, most despised McDonald's in the area

>couldn't come at a better time since a bunch of the more competent, experienced people are quitting or got fired and are getting replaced by idiots and high school kids
This year went by ridiculously fast. Can't say I'll miss working here but finally getting a job was a net positive for me, things have been looking up for the most part.

What is your new job going to be in?
>>

Public Safety, I'm going to be working for my campus PD as a CSO in two weeks. Want to be a cop eventually but I think I'll work probation for a few years first after graduating.

Every time people come in to scam us with their bullshit returns; we know its a scam, you are not some mastermind that tricked us with your jedi shit.
>>
Been working retail for over 10 years.
Have a full time job there.

Ask me what you wanna know.

I've done overnights, dairy/frozen and grocery.

I just wish customers would stop making a mess of everything. It is like the opposite of the midas touch, everything turns to shit.
>>
I'm working at a German Aldi and I always thought that I hate my job but it's just the fact that my coworkers can't plan as good as me.
I'm their subordinate so I just kept my mouth shut for the past year but I recently just began to tell what I think would be best.
They actually implement my ideas and everything goes smoother than usual but than they revert to their old habits and everything is shit.

>see him again a week later

Reminds me of a customer that wanted to use the toilet that's deep in the store and is obviously not for customers, but I said no. He said "Well, I guess I won't buy hotdogs from you then". The boss was next to me when they left, and he told me what I was thinking. "Who the fuck cares if you're not gonna buy some hotdogs?"

A few minutes later the guy comes back in and orders the hotdogs, and he has this obedient tone in his voice.

Nice story. It had lovable characters, and a nice ending.

>Chosen tariff is 200 bongs upfront
>Claims he saw an offer on a third party website with nothing upfront
>Tell him we don't match third party websites
>"You must be able to do me a discount though when it's that much cheaper?"
>No
>"Seriously? So how do you stay in business then?"
>How about I throw in a case or a screen protector for you?
>"I can just do this online instead. I'll save 200 quid and get my own"
>If it's that much cheaper, I won't blame you
>"Can you even knock off half?"
>No
>"Well, good luck staying in business if you're that expensive"
>Leaves
>Comes back 10 minutes later, speaks to a different employee and buys the original deal from them

Why do people try to bullshit you? I just don't understand.

>be brown asian that looks mexican working as cashier in ethnic supermarket
>be 2nd day of job, have difficulty differentiating all our potatoes and roots
>mexican customer pulls up with all the potatoes and roots we got
>fuck
>I don't recognize all of them on the spot, but identifying, weighing and bagging them is going smooth.
>Still not as fast as veteran cashiers here
>getting yelled in spanish
>complete transaction
>customer in broken english "you're lucky I don't have you fired and deported"
>"Bueno."

It just seems odd to me for a Mexican to threaten another brown person with deportation. I actually wanted to see what would happen if he tried because i have my citizenship and was just there while i waited for my contract for another job to be written up.
