Yeah I know it's autistic. The only live action movies that do something for me are time pieces from the Victorian era, WW1 and sometimes WW2 and the cold war in various places around the world.

I felt the same way with "atlas shrugged" and "of mice and men". Nothing will ever move me like those books did.

Yes it is mostly anime. I find the women in modern movies that play in modern time (and sometimes even in historical events) too masculine or even bitchy to feel really bad for them.

Happens to me every time with movies. I watched almost all of De Palma's movies, which are my favorite. None are as good as his. Knowing you'll never get to experience the sheer amazement of the first time you watched them...Really saddens me to the bones

its not always about the plot

its just watching some show for years just to have it end. It's not easy for me to handle such things.

Especially if the show had many seasons. After you finish the last episode, this dread silence sets in. You start to realize that it's over and after being so much invested into it you look around yourself for once, look at your bed, table and know that those are the real things. You realize how shitty your actual life is and it just breaks me

I know it's sort of off topic. I just want to say that I don't know any feeling more important in the world to me than being engrossed. It's incredible and perhaps some parts lucky if you feel that way about your actual life. Even if it's a TV series like House M.D., a series of movies, or even if it's fucking MLP, being engrossed is more important to me than being socially accepted. If it's crime, that's unfortunate, but don't ask me for advice there, kiddo.

5 cm per second, Hotaru no Haka, Kimi no Na wa, Koe no Katachi and Kokoro Connect, those are the ones I can think of right now.

There's also bunch of series I watched many years ago and recently checked if they added some new seasons, the answer was "no", which made me slightly more depressed.

That also applies to human made structures. My mom has photos from the 80's where she casually leans against the pillars of the ruins in Knossos. You go there now and it's all off-limits and filled with Chinese people taking photos of everything and blocking almost every bit of pathway. Other ancient sights are filled with gypsies or immigrants that try to sell you Chinese toys. I will never get to experience ancient sights like my parents got to experience them.

I just don't get why the writers built up the whole thing of Ashi showing Jack the good and love he's inspired in the world in spite of Aku's evil.

It would have made more sense to have Jack to realize Ashi was right, kill Aku in the present, and work toward a better future

I feel this way about a lot of things I read, even the technically awful things.
It gets to the point I like something so much I don't finish it at all.
