Does anyone else here have no hobbies?
Essentially my life consists of not working and working. I am so bored when I am not at work that I just get drunk and go to bed so I can go to work again in the morning.

You sound like you would be a good model train enthusiast. Like mama always said "If you got no where else to go, look towards the Might Iron Horse for guidance". The Railways change lives man, for better and for worse. Don't betray her though, betraying the railroad is like betraying mother nature.
>computer too crappy for videogames
>phone too crappy for mobile games
>books too expensive
>art too expensive
>Music hard to get into if you haven't learned an instrument as a kid
>too stupid to get into crafting things with workbench
But you must have things you enjoy? I consider hiking, skiing, canoeing, horse riding, nature walks my hobbies but as a working adult in a city theyre pretty hard to indulge in. Kind of just being an adult desu. Pass any other time reading, listening to music and watching stuff. Those arent hobbies exactly but that's what most people do in life if theyre not lucky or rich
why dont you degenerates do drugs

>get protools and learn to produce music
>read libidio dominandi (850p book)
lots of other things to do dear anon
Sounds like the typical wagie. You're what us neets call a natural slave.

I understand this feel, anon.

I'm in the same boat OP.
I work. I have money. I have tried learning languages, programming, learning guitar, playing video games, working on cars. The problem is that I do not find enjoyment in anything.

>music
I don't listen to music. Never have, and never will.

Money is not an issue, and my job is not physically demanding.

This is spot on. It isn't even in a depressed way. I love my job. I work as a geo-structural engineer designing tunnels (hence the OP photo). I am fully engaged at work, and I even buy relevant textbooks to read at home. But I do not count that as a hobby.
I have recently began wondering/worrying what I will do when I am too old to continue working. Do alzheimer patients know that they are a drag on society? or are they just happy motherfuckers?

You are fortunate. I have spent my entire career moving to whatever pays more. I do very little work, and what I do is exceedingly boring/simple.
I have always wondered, why are tunnels like these never constructed as aquifers for areas that experience drought?

>why are tunnels like these never constructed as aquifers for areas that experience drought
That is a good question, I am not really sure.
Current trends are for cities to construct large diameter storm water storage tunnels. They do this because they have out-dated combined storm/sewer drains (all storm water flows into the poop pipes and gets treated at the treatment plant). When a big rain occurs, the treatment plant can not keep up with the new influx of water, and they dump raw sewage into our lakes/rivers.

As a laymen, it always seemed to me that these would be similar in cost to construct as a damn, but with less ecological impact, and without the problem of evaporation.
>>37199312
>less ecological impact
Dams have a lot of obvious ecological impacts. both upstream and downstream. A major concern with tunnels is if the soil/rock you are removing is contaminated with a pollutant. Where would you dispose of such material?
>without the problem of evaporation
Tunnels leak. In areas with groundwater, water leaks into the tunnel. In a dry arid environment, water inside of a tunnel would leak into the surround ground.

10/10 banter would screencap if not for typos.

You work digging tunnels? Seems like a pretty comfy job, in the "takes the mind off how shitty life is" sense.
