I hope it doesn't reach that stage for me. Been isolated since finishing high school. Planning to get my life in gear when i finish my degree and get a job and my own place. But being unable to talk to people irl is due to having nothing to say... so sadly there is not much talking to be done.

Find groups in your area that share similar interests, reading, film etc. Even if you're shy someone else there will ease that. Or go to pubs and get blind, that's what I did and I've made some shit house friends but better than nothing.

All the people in my area are shitty (I live in Barstow ca.), I have no reason to contact them, not they have a reason to contact me; I do nothing in life except sit around all day on the computer, and if the weather isn't bad I'll go on a hike with my dad; pubs/bars are very horrible shitholes where you go to get laid, and get aids, the smell of beer makes me sick too.

This is where I can't relate, my family were awful and I bailed on them at eighteen. However I'd suggest not letting their problems being yours, assuming you're relatively young and they're somewhat well, then go. They'll be round, you can call and visit back.

Start small, Cali is a big place, live north? Move to southern Cali, and vice versa.
