I like wearing my hair short, quiet activities like gardening, demure colors, camping, history, etc. Back when I was a leftist other leftists always decided I was a crypto-conservative.

So part of the reason I voted for Trump was to spite these people, as childish as it might sound. Anyways, I've fallen in with a motley band of libertarians, traditionalists, and moderates who are pretty chill and down-to-earth while my former friends argue about "white feminism" and "cis privilege".

Kinda ironic that the Communists and Socialists have lost their blue collar base. You never meet a farmer or electrician who is a Communist. Instead, the support is really skewed. They have dirt-poor types who would have been arrested as social parasites in the USSR and are mostly on board because they feel wrong by society and want more handouts along with a sprinkling of some really wealthy people and ivory tower academic types.

Communism is fundamentally incompatible with human nature.

I advocate a regulated capitalist system with a dose of reasonable socialism. (Healthcare, education, and bare minimum social assistance.)

This is one of the most remarkable instances of doublethink in communists. They go on about how communism is "inevitable" and based on observing history and understanding how societies develop, yet they at the same time insist the same pattern from which they drawn their conclusions has absolutely no implications as to the fundamental nature of humanity. They just suppose that things will magically develop the way they want them to and humans will stop acting out of self interest and greed and become subservient, servile drones.
