Yeah I just saw I could have worded that better. I was still innocent and bright in 9th grade, I hadn't shelled myself off from the world yet. I don't remember what it was like being a normie, but I could talk to people easily and behave normally in social situations. Over HS, I became less trustworthy, minimizing bonds and relationships to keep myself free of burden.
