What if you have been unemployed for a year?
How much will that matter in trying to get an average/decent job? I'm not looking to make insane bank I just want to know how much it affects my employability.
the longer unemployed you are, the slimmer your chances are.
i am three years unemployed, and it's incredibly difficult
i think research shows the real harm is done in the first six months and then there isn't too much difference after, just a very slight downgrade over time
essentially, you are already past the point of being kinda fucked, so you are going to have to put a lot of effort in

in a similar position but more like 4 years. I have had some part time side jobs for family and friends that didn't last that long. Should I just try for bottom of the barrel positions now ?

i want those legs wrapped around my face like a hockey mask

just say you went to school. I did it a few times and it worked (for retail shit but still). sometimes I came up with some sob story about caring for my mother but now that I don't live with her I'll figure out some other lie now that I haven't worked in 9 months

>tfw all the bitches wearing shorts n shit during the spring
>all those moist sweaty assholes on the campus busses
fuck
You could just lie
>tfw 24 and never had a job

OP back again. I got my first job when I was 25 as a clerk in a grocery store. I can get interviews and do them and it doesn't bother me at all, I just can't get hired. That one job was the only one I've ever had and I've hit the 1 year mark now of being jobless.

>Should I just try for bottom of the barrel positions now ?
you should have been applying for those some time ago
>>37042260
>I just can't get hired
I really wonder why, I have the same problem.
Is it due my lack of social media presence?
The other people applying are rarely any better than me.
I used to be a hiring manager of minimum wage cucks. I didn't really care if they'd been unemployed for a while as long as they didn't have any glaring red flags and seemed ok in their interview.
If you can't get hired at all ever, you're probably bombing your interviews.

Have you guys ever been described as "intense"?I have
>>37042307
I haven't had any social media at all for like 5 years now. I mean I'm not even applying to things that are out of my league, I wanted to work in a warehouse and I still couldn't.
>>37042307
>>I just can't get hired
>I really wonder why
always remember - if you are already at the interview stage, personality>competence
for any real job any gap larger than a few months is basically instantly discarded
>>37042370
No. I know for a fact I have an easy time talking to people normally. It really must be my lack of work experience or credentials. I have a BA but pretty much everyone knows it doesn't matter now.

This. Ive had 4 jobs walked out on 1 after training, fired from 2 after 2 months.
As far as my employer is concerned ive had 2 jobs, one for two years and another for one.

>This. Ive had 4 jobs walked out on 1 after training
why
>>37042370
No, I try to make as a good possible impression as possible. Be very polite, strong handshake, smile, Try my best to talk.
>>37042382
Everytime I get feedback on the interview I just hear that I did nothing wrong, they just went with someone else. It's frustrating. Either they're holding something from me, or I'm actually very unlucky.
>>37042478
It sucked. Call center job. Every time I get a new one its better than the last though
what kind of job I can get with a hs diploma where I can get promotions and raises?
basically not a dead end job
>>37042558
Pretty much any job, assuming you have a time machine capable of taking you about 50 years in the past.
>>37041498
Moar please anon
>>37042598
figured so
>>37041498
Lie on your application
Lie in your interview
Lie at your job
This is the Chad way

This strategy got me a job after 4 years of unemployment. I recommend it.
