I always play as a gril now. Being a male is bland and boring, I like to customize the shit out of a gril. I sometimes spend hours just coloring/customizing. Can't be cute in real life, may as well do it in a virtual universe.

One of my issues is how stupid most men in MMO's look. Take male Orcs from world of warcraft for instance, instead of looking like they do in Lord of the Clans (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUNFrbpOSTE) they're these weird hunched abominations. A fem Orc meanwhile looks much better.

Guildwars (the original, can't speak for the new one) meanwhile had much more reasonable models for men. In which case, both of my main characters were male.

If a game has hypersexualized female characters in them it's a shitty game.

The only MMO I've played where hitboxes are a real thing was TERA.

But to answer OP, I play female characters in most (not all) games because the males are usually overly beefy-looking and have really goofy/overly-exaggerated animations. Best example I can think of this is WoW.

I let people buy me items and do stuff for me, but once they start following me around and calling me "hun" I break the news to them.

I've never liked the stereotypical male buffboy physique portrayed in games, especially fantasy MMORPGs. It doesn't help that the females had better hairstyles and facial structure. Sure, I'm kind of a fag, but I don't ERP as my characters or get a hard on from skimpy in-game outfits. In a game like World of Warcraft where gender doesn't affect your abilities at all, why are the mass majority of males races designed to look like bodybuilders?

The way male characters look in WoW is one of the main reasons I never played it. I'm not into going around looking like Gaston.

TERA was pretty fun, shame it ran out of stuff worth doing and got grindy too quickly. The basic mechanics were nice, I really don't like typical MMO mechanics with autoattacks and stuff, and TERA's combat was much more like an FPS or Bethesda RPG or whatever.
