Why don't you study math?
Average robot spends a lot of time thinking, math is just a purified form of thinking.
>>37011395
>using pi
>not tau
I do but I'm a CS brainlet so I can only understand the computational part of math. I'm not so good with proofs and things that require some intuition/creativity to connect the dots.
I do
Graph theory is my favorite subject (because I'm also an algorithmsfag). For some reason I haven't taken abstract algebra yet so that's what I'm taking in the fall.
be my fwiend and teach me
I want smart neet fwiends
Is math the most /fa/ subject?
It just seems so aesthetic to me. Unfortunately I don't understand anything beyond differential equations. But math looks so cool and pure.
>>37011395
so that number on the left equals -1
>>37012207
i thought (i square)=(-1)
sin i = 1
sin i.pi = -1
r-right ?
>>37011395
I always hated math
>>37012238
lol this moron
I only understand math in terms of solving physical problems: calculus, differential equation, eigenvectors etc.
When it comes to abstract math I feel completely lost.
>>37012260
pls, no bully. tell whats wrong.
>>37012253
>le anyone else really h8 math XD LOL
normie please laave
>>37012284
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euler%27s_identity
learn what polar coordinates are or how equations work lmoa loser
>>37012238
exp(i*pi) = cos(pi) + i*sin(pi) = -1
>>37012306
imo math is a normie subject, literally every fucking normie I've ever known was good at math and still is and they are successful
math is cool , i like it more than physics and its way easier. But the theory is a fucking pain in the ass and i hate it and proofs are even worse.
>>37012388
Normalfags getting an A on their high school trigonometry test =/= good at math
>>37011395
School made me hate math, and I have no interest in learning it since I have no pragmatic use for it. I'm not a smart robot, above average intelligence at best. My autism doesn't help my intelligence, it only hinders it, so I couldn't learn math even if I tried
>>37012358
thank you. you reminded me that.
>>37012323
projection.
m8 you are the loser.
>>37012459
No problem. I'm not a math nerd but Euler's identity is really one of the most amazing laws in math or physics I've ever seen.
>>37012478
another loser lrofl lmao
>>37012497
why that ? what does it smell like, what does it feel like.
>>37012502
projecting again. retard.
>>37012444
>concerning yourself with an arbitrary standard of usefulness
Normie detected.
>>37012759
>thinks pragmatism is arbitraty
better stick to your "math"
>>37012623
Not sure what you mean, but this connection between exponentials and sinusiods comes out of nowhere and is not even an approximation, but an exact identity.
>>37012832
You make me feel dumb dumb
I'm a math phd student
It's hard as fuck
Also, everyone else in my year seems to be better than me
It's really depressing
I studiedCSbut I'd like to get more rounded and study the other parts of math I ignored, is there any list of recommended resources out there?
studying pure maths is an enlightening experience. it rewires your brain and you finally understand that at least 99% of the population is retarded compared to you.
>>37011395
Im stupid
thats really all there is to it
>>37013829
dunning-kruger
>>37013839
I have 100 official IQ and I like to learn analysis.
I have a bad habit of not using any math terms. My thinking and problem solving process consists purely of "put the thing in the thing, divide, multiply, add, subtract, switch the other thing around, this becomes negative for no reason", etc. Yes, I do badly on my exams. There's just too many damn rules and processes to remember.
>>37013935
Bad math teacher.
Your teacher taught you to collect stamps instead of creating stamps with what you know.
I know that sounds pretentious but that's just how it is.
>>37011395
Because I'm not as passionate when it comes to math as I am about things like philosophy or languages.
>inb4 fedora
>>37011395
because learning psycology is way more ineresting than learning math.
>>37014291
>psychology
Fuck off tumblr.
>>37014144
You're right though. I'm so much of a tard because of that, and now I can't solve new/different looking problems without an example. They could use the same rules and principles as what I've been studying, but if I don't know the order of steps to solve it, I get stuck.
Should I go to college for math? I'm 22 and I have no HS di0loma but I have gotten A in community college calculus classes and their most advanced physics class (which is still nothing desu). I'm just scared of going into debt 40k or more and then fucking up at it. I love math but it's always been A casual hobby for me, like watching numberphile viseos.
>>37014291
>psychology
pff
>>37011395
Because I'm fucking retarded and math bores me
>>37011395
It's interesting but I suck at applying math concepts
>>37012124
if you like math shapes, look at Cristallography or microbiology (foraminifera and coccoliths in particular)
Differential geometry is sufficient enough to supplement human interaction for me.
>>37015262
nigga get the fuck outta here
>>37015262
>differential geometry
>topology
>manifolds
If math subjects were related to music genres, these would be the shitty screamo metal of math
>>37011395
Math is a skill that needs practice. If you aren't passionate about numbers you won't put in the effort necessary.
Robots are whirlwinds of passion and are known for investing into their surroundings.
>>37014570
School fucking sucks because while the material is great, the lifestyle is a package sold with extroverts in mind.
Pursue your passions through alternative means.
>>37011395
>math is just a purified form of thinking.
hhmm
really makes you think
>>37014570
I have a math B.S. and can't get a job dude.
what book(s) would you guys recommend for me to go from "brainlet pleb no-nothing elementary school dropout" to "baseline common casual college student" level?
>>37016484
Calculus of James Steward is often used for freshmen courses at my TU. It's pretty straightforward and really thick
>>37016424
Goddamn it. All I want is a 35k job so I can move out. Literally all I care about.
>>37011395
i do, i'm studying for a masters in pure maths atm (as soon as it becomes at all applied i just lose interest)
number theory is the goat branch tbqh
>>37011395
Actually, I do.
What difference does it make?
