I'm not surprised that they like them. I don't get the appeal, but I'm know where I am and I know games are pretty popular.

What I was surprised by is how hostile people were when they found out I didn't like all the same shit as them. Even if we had other common ground, they would still press me about why I didn't play X or Y, and how I could not find games fun. Every time they'd make a reference to a game they'd take the time to say "anon wouldn't know but..." It was funny the first two times but it got fucking annoying.
