I try to stop myself from going too deep into self-belittlement. I also try to minimize the amount of sad music i listen to. Learning to deal with self-induced depressive episodes can mean the learning of how to tame yourself and keep yourself in check. Sometimes you just have to be the one that saves you since in reality, nobody will come to you. Try not to be too harsh on yourself. Instead, try to make things better for yourself and care for yourself. Try to get your sleep rhythm in check, eat better, learn to spend money appropriately, aka become your own caretaker.
It's not easy, it can be hard as hell and sometimes you just want to lash your at yourself but remember that you need to be able to be kind to yourself.
(take this with a grain of salt since i'm 18, but i'm really trying to grow into an adult since nobody's going to be there for me when i need someone. I hope you can derive something valuable from my post.)
