"wanna be" and "wants to be" are two different things. yes he does want to be part of society and see what it would be like to be normie, but thats only because he was oblivious to to the outside other than the odd peptalk from frollo. that being said every endeavor ended up in a robot like situation. not even Disney could let this guy "get the girl"
