The only way you'll learn anything at all is to be an idiot and make mistakes. That is how you learn because 9/10 you get people who will help you. Just post it and see the worst that could happen is you get some asshole, if so just blow him off and find others who want to help.

Find an IRC channel and lurk moar.
Throw out the odd interjection when you feel confident that you know what's going on and build up from there.

I've been doing French like that for a while and also immersing as I spend a lot of time in France, not fluent by any means but day to day issues are no longer troublesome and I can discuss the news, or the TV or whatever.

FFS don't use /int/ or your hovercraft will be full of eels.

Don't worry, french are making more mistakes than foreigners because they don't even know their own language. Best of luck with this dying language.
