I don't usually drink and I've never drank to self-medicate. What do you guys suggest? I'm pretty new to alcohol. Some beers and shots at parties but nothing more.

I prefer cheap wine. $4 a bottle for merlot. Gives a really mellow drunk but when you start to sober up you get extremely depressed. Beer drunk makes me feel like shit and I get headaches while drunk from it. Whiskey gives you a "head" drunk. Feels pretty nice.

Would definitely recommend trying a cheap wine. Drink the whole 750 ml bottle "around 3 wine glasses of wine" in less than an hour. The drunk comes on slow. You will feel really warm and happy. Then it's just a great feeling for a few hours.

i mostly drink beer, or i just buy some kind of gin or rum or some shit and mix it with something.
or i just look in the cabinet, see what rando shit i have and google it. last night i googled gin and cointreau and made some shit called a white lady, which was pretty good.
but if you're starting fresh and not deep into your alcoholism, i would just buy a tall boy or a big bottle of beer. my fav liquor store beer is modelo, but ymmv.

Merlot is a red wine. Tastes like grape juice. Another one of my favorites is Port, another red that's sweeter than merlot.

You will probably need a corkscrew but they also sell wine bottles with twist off caps. You should also look into white wines like chardonnay. They are really light and easy to drink. Plus a more mellow drunk
