As weird as this is, it's a lot like the social/artistic trends across the years. The 00's was like the edgy emo phase of someone, and after that, they began recovering (the flowery music and art of the 10's), so to see that his music reflects the same artistic change isn't shocking. Notice how positive the lyrics are here compared to his older stuff.
