It's shit like this that makes me think, at least in just the relationship sense, that raising children isn't that hard if your heart is in it. I'm not going to encourage my kid to fucking sleep around, but I'd like to have them talk with me about crushes and that sort of thing since I can actually give them some advice, unless they never exist so I never learn but that's besides the point.
Adding to that, if they're ever sad or depressed I'll give them some space then go in for the kill and get them the help they need. My parents never said anything bad about sex, they just didn't talk about it any and I naturally found it embarrassing. When I hit puberty around age 12 I mostly fantasized about doing naked things with girls when I was younger, I guess because I thought it would have been better to do it when my thoughts were purer and less perverted. Well I was raised by my grandmother who has a pretty dim view of sex and is a pretty devout Christian.

This is a myth. Yes, ending masturbation was but one of the many health benefits that was linked to circumcisions, but it was also found (rightfully) to protect against syphilis and other STI as well as UTI. Even back then.
