Are they flying? You need a little practice to know how much you need to lead shots to hit targets in motion.

Is it a spring piston air rifle? Look up "artillery hold"; the large moving massed in the rifle may adversely affect accuracy

I'd get a little .410 or .22. For that much it should be a decent air rifle though. Sighting in sucks, I highly suggest one of those laser bore gadgets to help.
