ITT: Shit normies do that perplexes you

>gambling
How the fuck do normies get addicted to gambling? How can you enjoy giving your money away?
>>
>>36915136
>gambling
It's the thrill of winning not losing. Imagine being a kid back in the 90's and buying a pack of pokemon cards, that's a form of gambling. You pay up front and then open the pack and maybe just maybe if you are lucky you got that blastoise or charizard.

Same shit, you drop a penny in the slot machine you might get nothing you might get the jackpot.

Difference is I wouldn't bankrupt myself over them. Walking into a casino is the most bluepilled cucked thing you can do. Everyone knows the house always wins. You're just giving your money away because pic related lured you with shiny lights.

I look at it as entertainment. I went to a show in Atlantic City 2 weeks ago. Went in the casino, put 20 bucks in a slot machine, played for about 2 hours and left with 40 dollars. I also drank 4 free drinks during this time. Eden workout winning though I have gone to casinos and spent less than 50 bucks drinking and gambling, still far less than I would have spent at a bar.

>social media
What's so fun about posting a picture and getting "likes" or sending random pictures to keep up your "streek"
>>
>>36915503
The more likes they get the more it strokes their ego and makes them feel liked/accepted

It's like getting (You)'s on here
>>
>>36915180

Difference with trading cards is that you're guaranteed a certain amount of card types every booster pack. You're guaranteed 3 rares, 5 uncommons, 10 non-resource cards, 5 resource/token cards

With gambling the machines are rigged so they don't pay out until X amount of dollars has been put in. Even if you win, it might be a 2x bet. By the time you get a 50x Bet you already spent over $500 on a machine so you're just getting your money back.

same way you spend it on csgo to unlock crates.
the entire system is gambling in disguise made to get younger people hooked into gambling without knowing it

>getting drunk
>doing drugs
I never understood how people couldn't make themselves calm without using supplements.

Imagine being a kid back in the 90's and buying a pack of pokemon cards, but the pack is empty and instead it says:
>SORRY PLEASE PLAY AGAIN
Now imagine only 1 out of 64 packs actually contains cards and to get the rare cards you want you need to buy three identical packs.
>>
>>36915136
Because sometimes you win big. Have you ever tried it? It's fun.

I hate how my normie book friends all share their dumb opinions and whore for likes
>>
>Thing isn't popular
"Uh... that's a big weird, anon. Never heard of it, it sounds weird."
>Thing gets popular
"OH MY GOD I LOVE IT I'M SUCH A HUGE FAN OF IT EVERYONE HAVE YOU HEARD OF THIS?"

It happened with Pokemon Go. It went from "You still play Pokemon, anon? Isn't that a big childish? It's like.. for kids and stuff" to them going "I JUST CAUGHT A PIDGEY, OMG A KOFFING!!!" with Pokemon GO.

Same with Game of Thrones "It seems too complicated and really boring... that seems really nerdy, anon. I dunno how you can watch it" to "MY FAVE CHARACTER IS KHALESSI!" when it got popular.

I still remember when ASOIAF was pretty niche, I got into the books around 04 or 05 after hearing how George scrapped A Feast for Crows to rewrite it. But the amount of retarded Harry Potter fans who have bandwagoned on it annoy me a lot.

Also I'm dreading Twin Peaks returning this month, I know Lynch was never big with the normies which is why Inland Empire failed commercially but Christ I'm dreading the fact social media phone addicts are going to be just liking it because they don't enjoy it just because it is popular, they don't deserve Twin Peaks.
>>
>Spend all day gazing at their phones, doing nothing but looking at phone
>>
she like that WHITE POWER. Kek
>>
Gambling isn't a normie addiction, it's a retard addiction.

Facebook is a normie addiction. Selfies are a normie addiction. Friends are a normie addiction.

Wake up, you bastard.
>>
as far as i know, most gamblers who get addicted get a big win early on, then gamblers fallacy takes over. Which is basically, "i lost a bunch in a row, so i'm due for a win".
>>
>>36915180

It's not the same, because booster cards aren't legally gambling. You have a defined outcome of rarity dispersed. What those cards are is irrelevant. It's illegal to sell gambling to kids.

>spending all day gazing at your computer, doing nothing but looking at computer

>>36917261
>spending all day looking at my dick, doing nothing but stroking my dick.
>>
>>36915136
>giving up on getting good at something because it requires effort
not an exclusively normie thing but I don't understand why people do that
>>
>>36915433
Gambling shills get out.
>drinking
again get the fuck out
>>
>Go out drinking and do nothing but take pictures in the EXACT same location every week

Why, what do they get out of it?
>>
>>36915136
I desperately needed money so I tried to gamble a lot of my savings but I lost it all in three attempts with 50% chance
>>
>go to casino roulette table
>put $10 on black
>if lose then put $20 on black
>if lose again then put $40
>keep going like this
>if I win at that point I break even and start again
>if I win the first bet then I gain profit
Assuming I have a few grand, this is foolproof right? I would have to lose at least a dozen times in a row and even casinos won't cheat you that obviously.
>>
>>36917247
What about cs go crates?
>>
>>36917526
No, that is a classic fallacy. In roulette, no matter what, ever spin has an expected value of less than zero.

What you described is what is known as a martingale strategy. You can read about the math if you'd like.

These days there's a feeling of dread when your favourite comic book or book gets a TV or movie adaptation as it means the normies come swarming in if it gets popular. Usually you're safe for season 1 but then season 2 hits and in they come.

American Gods is the current one its happening to, although I think Westworld will be hit worse for its next season. There'll be a point it goes the GoT route and dumbs itself down for normies. Same with Stranger Things.

REEEEEE why do they ruin everything and the shows casualise themselves?
>>
>>36915136
>have kids
>do nothing but work and take care of children
>>
>>36917367
>Take pictures with randoms at parties to make it look like they have friends.

>Go out with friends
>Spend most of it looking at their phones
>Just take pictures with one another like they're having a blast.

All those pics are fake.
>>
>>36917869

Agreed, you can tell by their smiles they despise it which is the really funny part. Normies really are the more insecure than robots.
