>dumb hicks call soda "coke"
proof that you are all mentally retarded
It's not a big deal. It's like calling tissues "kleenex", window cleaning solution "windex", or bandages "band-aids".
>dumb Americans argue over whether carbonated beverages should be called "coke", "pop" or "soda"
>not just calling them carbonated beverages or fizzy drinks
>>36898514
fizzy drinks is by far the gayest way to refer to soda
>>36898503
the difference is when you ask someone for a kneenex, some windex, or a baid aid, they know exactly what you mean. when you ask for coke they then ask what kind
that is fucking stupid
>Pennsylvania
>saying "pop"
This can't be true
I live in New Mexico and never hear anyone say coke unless they actually mean a coke, otherwise it's soda
>>36898514
pic absolutely very related
I live in Pennsylvania and I have literally never heard someone call it "pop"
>What would you like to drink
>Coke
>Is Pepsi okay???
>>36898968
What part of the state? I never heard it either in the southeast but it could be more common in the pennsyltucky parts of the state
>>36898514
Stupid europeans not realizing that when a country is bigger than a small town then you're gonna have different dialects
>>36899016
We do realize that idiot.
Ever been to England? Dialects change every 20 miles.
You go from poshy jargon in the south to drunken gibberish in the north.
i was born and raised in Alabama and i never ever heard anyone call it anything but soda
>>36899087
how do i get a drunken gibberish accent british gf?
>>36899107
Yes plz daddy

>>36898474
Daily reminder that this is what soda is and not the shit you americunts tend to drink or call "soda".
>>36898474
Ohiobot herethe only true home of the robot, the state should be stripped red, yellow and blue, but most people just say the name of the pop they're getting
>>36898474
Why is "coke" what gets ragged on the most when "pop" is literally the most autistic way to say it?
HURR DRINK GO POP
>>36899223
that is seltzer you uncultured faggot
>>36899281
Because is a actual product, you faggot
>>36899281
pop is way slightly more autistic than calling it soda. calling soda coke is not autistic, it's just full on hick retardation
>Live in texas
>Literally nobody ive ever met has called a soda "coke" unless they were specifically referring to coke
>>36899351
On that note, calling tissue Kleenex, cotton swabs Q-Tips, bandages Band-Aids, and lip balm ChapStick (all of which are universally done throughout the country) is also hick retardation. Off yourself.
>>36898474
or maybe they only drink coke?
>>36898474
This is no big deal. Nobody calls Jeeps a compact sport utility vehicle. No one calls Kleenex facial tissue. Have you ever heard people call Lava Lamp a liquid motion lamp? Sure as shit nobody calls Super Glue cyanoacrylate adhesive. Do you even know what a hook-and-loop fastener is? Velcro.
There are better things out there to be elitist about.
Soda is fucking flavorless carbonated water you dumbamerifats, the things you call soda are actually"cold drinks" or "soft drinks" or "carbonated beverage". Wew.
>>36899016
we even have 4 different 'main' languages
>>36899403
>caring this much about what others call certain things
Now that's autistic retardation.
>>36899196
It's like she's black, but the wrong color.
>>36899668
>GUYS HAHA I'M SO SMART LOL HEHE
we know the fucking difference, we call it "club soda" or "seltzer water" here
>>36899485
But soda is something that comes in many different varieties.
If you ask for a "coke", you're going to get a Coca Cola. Nobody is gonna ask "what kind of coke?"
>>36898979
>ask for pepsi on purpose
>"i-is coke okay?"
>mfw
Even better than "virgin rum and coke"
>>36898580
>your slang is bad because they way I would ask that question is vague in another region due to minor language differences
I'm sorry we don't call a beverage the same thing you call it, south btfo amirite?
>>36898474
I'm in Texas and at least from my experience most people now call it soda or "soft drink".
>>36898503
A tissue doesn't vary. Soda varies. Not every soda is coke lol
>>36898474
"Soft drink" autist reporting
>>36898474
Wew lad. I call any toothpaste Colgate.
>>36898474
In Britbong we call them by their brand name. Never heard anyone call them "soda"
>Coke/Pepsi
>Sprite
etc.
It's pop anyway so
>what would you like to drink?
>i would like a coke
>they bring you this
>BUT I WANTED MOUNTAIN DEW REEEEEEE
Why the fuck do they call it coke? It's like calling all juices "apple juice".
>>36898474
> Grew up in "pop" states (IA, IL)
> Now live in a "soda" state (NV)
> Feels bad, man
I've lived in Colorado for 15 years and I've never once heard a native refer to soda as pop
>>36898474
am i the only person who says soda pop or soft drink
>>36902733
calling it soda pop is like 1940s autism
>>36902209
Not really, it's more like calling all vacuum cleaners "Hoovers" or calling hot tubs "Jacuzzis"
>>36898514
>why would you say something in 1-2 syllables when you can say it in 8
You're a retard.
>>36902747
>not calling it poppa sod
>>36902804
that sounds like the name of a person with a rape dungeon
No one calls it pop. Maybe like a few thousand people. This graph is a lie.
>>36902824
I'm from Ohio, and whenever some queer called it soda me and the boys got together and kicked his ass.
>>36898474
I say coke and soda, never pop. Pop is for mentally degenerate retards.
I'm from Maine, and whenever some breeder called it pop me and the boys got together and ate his ass.
>>36900461
I asked for a soda once in another country and they gave me sparkling water. Soda is it's own thing just like Coke. Pop is the most general term.
>>36898474
I'm grew up in Chicago and whenever some Yankee snob would call pop soda we would run out of our shacks in our bare feet and fire our guns into the air all hoot'n and holler'n
>>36902895
Why would you use the generic "soda" when asking for something specific in this unspecified country?
There be holes in your story.
>>36898474
>tfw pop master race
>>36902940
Because my parents are from NY and I grew up hearing Soda used just for Coca Cola or Pepsi. I grew up in Ohio, but would still say soda rather than pop. Now I just ask for specific brands. I forgot when I was in Israel that the guide told us the local nomenclature is that "soda" mean sparkling water.
>>36898951
>rooty tooty point-n-shooty
kek every fucking time
>>36898474
Graph is false, the south only uses "coke" to refer to coca-cola obviously
