Got a five-star rating on Textbroker. For beer money, I log on every now and then and knock out a few entries.
These sites are rip offs. And they're mind numbing.
Honestly, having done both, I can say that fast food is about a thousand times better.

Check their website out. It's been a long time since I started, but the process involves sending them some of your writing samples.
After a probationary period, you'll probably come in as either a three or a four-star writer. The higher your rating, the more writing assignments you can take on -- not to mention assignments that pay out a bit more.
Try to get on some writing teams as well; they offer some decent work every now and then. To bump up your rating, brush up on the AP style guidelines for writing and editing.
But because work tends to get spotty every now and then, it shouldn't be your only source of income.
