Friends don't exist.
You need to look at it like this. The world is like one big zone (Stalker Zone). You go around and collect shitty artifacts (anime figures, baseball cards, dildos, etc) while trying to survive. You must not only battle the elements but also other Stalkers, creatures, military, etc.
There are no friends in the Zone (the world).
