Your dreaming brain nailed it. I have exactly one friend, I hadn't seen him in almost 10 years since he joined the army and moved. He came back recently, and visited me. The very first thing he did was pull me into a hug and tell me he missed me. For the 10-20 seconds that hug lasted, it felt like everything was going to be ok, that I'd make it, that I finally had mah nigga back. He introduced me to his hot wife and qt daughter, and it all fell away.

It feels really good. Best experience I have ever had with another human being. Instead of feeling awkward and wanting to escape the situation it was warm and comforting. I remember that hug rest of my life.
