What are some cool hobbies that don't cost much money?
I pretty much only play video games because I'm a manchild, and it gets somewhat expensive to keep buying games. And when I wait months for a sale, I end up having no one to discuss it with or play it with.
You should take up drawing.
Read books, boy. Read the Monogatari light novels.
running, it's the most free hobby and it's good for you
Qi gong, tai chi, yoga and meditation for dat sweet inner peace. Reading, doesn't have to be useful or sophisticated books, i've realised that reading properly (a book or kindle, not on the internet) puts me in a particular kind of light flow state that seems protective from negative over thinking, helps get to sleep faster too. Reading outside is the shit, and any hobby where you can get light exposure is double benefit. Art and other creative things are great too.

these are all decent answers.
picking up an instrument is also good as an emotional outlet, and usually doesn't cost a TON of money to get basic stuff. A cheap beginner guitar is like $50-$150 for example

Running shoes (and I don't mean the expensive ones) still cost a lot, not to mention that you have to replace them after like half a year at best. Still patrician tier hobby though.

Programming is a nice cheap hobby, and you may even make something useful at the end, if it's something you would be interested in. Also, once you learn a language, picking up another one is easy, but the first one is hard though.
