>get a job to try to become more mature
>too much of a pussy to be a good employee
>go home every day feeling like more of a useless child
>get a job by completely lying in the interview and faking a personality
>manager gets mad when he inevitably learns I'm not the person I pretended to be

Step it up man. Nothing is gonna wreck your confidence and sense of self more than feeling like you suck at your job, and you're not just gonna be able to not have a job. Get good at it. Work hard. I've been there many times
>get a retail job
>purposefully place every item with the label facing away from the aile
take that capitalist scum!

this is my fear I guess i'll stay a NEET because I can't even bag groceries right

I tell myself I'll be more assertive and careful before every shift but it never happens, and it's been 7 months. I'm okay at the actual work just not at problem solving or preventing problems I can see coming.

When things I know I should stop happen I just sit there and watch like an idiot. I should have been sent home 3-4 hours earlier then I was because the restaurant was dead but the manager was too new to realize it and I wasn't assertive enough to tell her, so I was on the clock doing jack shit for way too long. Little shit like that that costs the store money and inconveniences people.

who cares?
you stay as long as you can in order to make the most money you can
it isn't your job to send yourself home

I've been here 6 months longer than the manager, I knew better and still said nothing. I've been here the longest out of everyone and was completely passed over for promotion because I'm so terrible socially.

Maybe you can take a lesson from the past:
Old 'Mental Hygiene" films can be amusing, but they can also teach things.
