Does anyone here make money without just a normal job you apply to?

How did you get into it? How much do you make?

What do you mean by a 'normal job?'

I'm a freelance writer. A lot of my clients came from networking and approach me fairly regularly. The money isn't the best, but it's enough to support myself while traveling in developing countries or wrapping up the last few semesters of my degree.

I also make an additional $1,000 per month from a contract I hold with a law firm. I spend between five and seven hours creating blog content and putting together news analyses and opinion pieces for them every week. It's a really chill job and I get to learn a lot and stay on top of political developments - recently, the editor has been getting e-mails from other attorneys and interest groups seeking to provide me additional material.

Feels good, honestly. Plus, the editor is incredibly helpful and probably one of the best 'bosses' I've ever had. He's encouraging me to write a book on my own and said he'd help provide hook-ups.

Sorry for the blog post, trying to get myself into a good mood TBQFH.

How do I find a job if I have anger-management issues?

Last job I had was at Starbucks and I got fired after just two weeks because I squashed a scone in some obnoxious customer's face and poured his frap down his shirt collar (it felt even better because it was some white-collar guy probably heading to his job in finance).

Why can't I find a job where I don't have to deal with annoying people?

I work as a staff accountant and am really interested in some kind of side business specifically to pay my student loans.
Problem is, I don't really know what service I could provide.
Don't say tax either, I'm not a tax accountant.
>>36806588
Something like your blog content piece would be up my alley. I'm a decent writer.

Just apply for writing positions via LinkedIn and CraigsList. It's a bit of crap shoot, but sometimes you get lucky.

I've published content in a handful of magazines internationally as well as a couple of websites. I'm trying to create my own blog or website but don't have the confidence to expect success, kek.

If you're decent at writing, just focus on building a portfolio. Do some free work for BuzzFeed or some shit. My ex is a social media analyst at a large ad agency but does writing in her spare time. She got some moderately lucrative writing gigs because people saw her BuzzFeed shit and liked it.

>I'm trying to create my own blog or website but don't have the confidence to expect success, kek.

Make your own thing anon, it's worth it. Success won't come overnight, it may take a few years of just plugging away at it, but when the money starts rolling in it will feel so good. The years are going to pass anyway, the more time you let pass the more you will regret not starting sooner.

Dunno, senpai.

I have a respectable audience on another social media website (4,000+ followers) but don't know how to monetize it.

I travel a lot but feel like travel blogs and travel websites are completely over-done. The market is, in my opinion, far too saturated for my contributions. Even though I've been to some interesting and off-the-grid places, like Iraq and Kazakhstan, I just don't know how to leverage that shit.

I've just got this inferiority complex or fear of success; I feel like there's nothing I can put out there which hasn't already been done better.
>>
>>36807155

*fear of not succeeding, I meant.
>>
I work for shareblue. I get 0.25 cents per shitpost, 0.05 cents for slide threads and bumping slide threads, $1 for a thread derailment. I also get 0.10 cent per (you)

>>36806635
I can't tell if this is bait or not but you get a normal job and not act like a fucking child.

If you're somehow unable to do that, then look into being a mortician's assistant or something. You only need a high school diploma and everyone you deal with is dead.
>>
>>36807155
Motherfucker you're succeeding pretty well already, just do more of that.
>tfw meme major and can only translate
>online pages look for 5yo experience faggots with hourly rate and shit
I don't know how to calculate my fucking rate to begin with
>>
>>36807155
I know that feel well. I'm an app developer, another saturated field, and I worked on my apps for a couple of years before one of them took off. Now I'm making decent money and it feels great.

I don't know how you monetize social media (probably semi-nude hot girls and normie product shilling), but blogs seem pretty easy to monetize. I've seen several blogs build up an audience and then sell their ebooks and ecourses.
>>
>>36807371

Translate what?

Sorry, kind of drunk.

>>36807612

Thanks, m8.

I lived in India for a couple of years. A lot of the social media followers I have are South Asian, since they're pretty easily awed by foreigners speaking authoritatively about their affairs.

Think I'll try to capitalize on that but fug.
>>
>>36807653
Translate just about everything. I'm beginning to dabble in this stuff and haven't worked once.
So far, people seem to translate things like web pages, law documents, academic papers etc.
I hate teaching English because I can't into empathy and don't know how my students are doing.
>>
>>36807612
I know guys who started blogs on what they know and they get decent amount of visitors, for daily things like how to properly wash your car to house cleaning to automotives to gardening. Obviously not glamorous as visiting exotic places with your BF who has rock hard and but still viable

>I've been to some interesting and off-the-grid places, like Iraq and Kazakhstan

I'd write about that. Write books about your travels and slap them on Amazon/Google Play/iTunes bro, people will buy anything.

Would like to know if anyone does dropshipping? I have 5000$ I want to drop out of college because I'm finding it so lonely and uninteresting. I wonder if this is able to bring in minimum wage amounts. Also anyone that does a youtube, or makes blog money.

Freelance graphic designer.

Started doing favors for friends, like websites, profiles and retouching photos. Then they like the shit I do on Facebook and Instagram and then either I will get contacted by someone or I will contact someone doing a project I get it in on.

It pays like shit but I didn't get into this field to make money anyway.

I'm the anon you responded to originally.
You need to consider two paths.
1) Big 4 Cucking.
All the over achievers in your classes will head this way. They will make 60k+ a year after they intern and will have invaluable job experience.
They will also work 80+ hours a week. Is that what you want? If so, intern ASAP.
2) Industry
It took me 6 months to find a job with a masters degree in industry. I make 42k a year having just started. I go home at 5:30 every day. I'll have good stuff on my resume because I work in a small business with the controller and CFO that expose me to every part of the business.
Which do you want to do?

All I want is to earn the absolute minimum needed to get by.. Like.. Minimum wage poverty level income. But doing so without trading away the majority of my waking hours or needing to overcome my anxiety or depression first feels impossible. I wish I could luck into some of these 10/10 jobs you guys have.
>>
>>36808492
I am absolutely terrified of unemployment or not having enough money so the more sure path of the Big 4 Cucking seems better. How long do people that route usually stay in the meat grinder before moving on? Also, for the CPA exam, is it better to overload/do summer credits/go for a masters to get the 150 credits?

>but don't know how to monetize it.
patreon, amazon publishing, sell ebooks
all you have to do is present yourself rather than the product and fucking spam that shit in every social media site you can have
>>
>>36808590
Usually people try to get 2-5 years.
You might have more success than I did in industry.
I did the masters and I am drowning in debt. Get the 150 in undergrad if you can.
>>
>>36808795
Thank you for your insight anon, I wish you luck

>get prescribed adderall under father's health insurance

I could make more but it's not like I really need the money. Funnily enough, I don't consider myself a 'drug dealer' but moreso just a friendly aid to students.
