Hey /r9k/, I'm an anon who asked for advice for the same girl on two occasions and I felt to do one last "update".
The first occasion was in November, she had been a classmate and invited me to a Thanksgiving dinner the college had that day, I came early, saw her with her bf and bailed before they could see me. Went here for advice and you told me to cut contact - I didn't.
Second occasion was months ago and a semester later where we accidentally became classmates again. I had asked her out mid-semester and I got memed on, she said she didn't see me that way, she only goes for bad boys, that I'm kind hearted etc. I confronted her about the first occasion after that, feeling I had nothing to lose. It was cringey and made us both look bad(me = beta, her = bitch). Went here for advice and you told me to cut contact - I didn't.
Weeks after that, she started inviting me to study and did a complete 180 in how she dressed from sweat(not yoga) pants and t-shirts to revealing whore dresses that went down to her upper thigh, started teasing me and talking to a bunch of strange guys in front of me to make me jealous(or get fucked). The former worked. I became suicidal and nearly lost my shit that week, I couldn't take it and harmed myself in different ways.
A month or so after my breakdown I kinda got over it and tried to forgive her and be her friend still. It didn't really work since I had to be distant to her for a while after that for my sake and then that distance became a two-way thing.
Our last conversation was a few days ago, it was basically platitudes both ways about how the semester was. We exchanged info about where we're going from here. She's off to a new college and I'm on my way to the hardest semester yet.

Anyway yeah I would had suffered less heart ache and mental torture if I just listened but at the same time I learned a lot from this. More than I did in my 7 years alone in a room being home "schooled".
I really did appreciate your guys' advice though, which is why I wanted to give closure on it all but it just didn't sit right with me to cut her out. I saw a kind person in her who would be worth friendship, if not a relationship, I was wrong of course and paid the price.

I guess that's one way to put it. I was really tame with what I described as "tried to forgive her and be her friend still" though. It never got more passionate than "How are you" or mentioning a school thing. I didn't open my heart or anything, except to kinda describe some shit I was going through this semester with my head that impacted my school performance. I never mentioned that she was a big cause of it all, I just changed the subject.
